{The Chain Gang/Vintage Swap} Fuzzy Purple Jacket + Giveaway!

VINTAGE_SWAP_COLLAGE_1

Hey there loves! It's time for another vintage swap with The Chain Gang! :D If you're unfamiliar with The Chain Gang and our fun vintage swaps, we are a group of bloggers that are obsessed with vintage and just love to thrift shop! Back in 2011, the gorgeous Tanya from NovemberGrey contacted me for our very first swap and since then it's taken off! Our goal with "The Chain Gang" is to not only share the love of vintage with eachother, but with all of you! The best part is that one lucky follower of ours gets to win the piece we feature?! Pretty darn awesome, huh? You can check out our past vintage swaps below:
The Sea Shell Skirt - March 2011 (Tanya & Jennifer)
The Bright Orange Skirt - April 2011 (Tanya, Jennifer, & Noa)
Champagn Cropped Trousers - July 2011 (Tanya, Jennifer, Noa, & Devon)
Southwest Jacket - October 2011 (Tanya, Jennifer, Noa, & Devon)
DIY Sequin Jacket - March 2012 (Tanya, Jennifer, Noa, Devon, Jen, Sarah, & Yola)
Floral Shortsleeved Jacket - September 2012 (Tanya, Jennifer, Noa, & Devon)

This time, sweet Sarah from LivingGoldie picked the vintage piece for us to style! This jacket is not only soft and fuzzy, but the purple color is even more gorg in person! I couldn't wait to style this piece! Obviously these photos were taken some time ago (October 2012 to be exact), so that's why I'm sporting my baby bump! :) I decided to stick with vintage for the piece beneath the jacket, so I wore one of my fave vintage floral dresses. I was shocked that it fit over my growing belly, but quite pleased because the colors in the dress complimented the jacket wonderfully! I just love when that happens, don't you?

Now the fun part! One lucky follower of ours will win this beautiful vintage jacket! All you have to do is head on over to Sarah's blog: LivingGoldie to see how you can enter to win it! And if you do, you've gotta send us some pics so we can see how you styled it!

Hey loves! Such a busy Tuesday for me, so I apologize for the quick post! Wore this outfit last weekend to run some errands. As I said in my post yesterday, the weather has been super cold in FL, so I was happy that I was finally able to wear one of my fave vintage jackets. This vintage tapestry jacket is one of my fave vintage finds ever. It's so 70's and I love it.

How's the weather like in your neck of the woods?

Chain Gang: "Farewell to Summer" Vintage Swap + Giveaway!

Vintage_Swap_Collage_

Hey loves! It's that time again! Time for another vintage swap coming to you from the Chain Gang! :) If this is the first time you've seen one of our swaps, then be sure to check out our past swaps:
Seashell Skirt
Orange Wrap Skirt
Champagne Pants
Southwest Jacket
Sequin Jacket

The Chain Gang was the brain child behind the lovely Tanya from the blog November Grey! Tanya emailed me one day and said, "Hey, want to start a vintage swap?" Of course, those that know me know that I was immediately smitten with Tanya's idea and of course I wanted to start a vintage swap! How fun! :) Later the swap grew and we invited Noa from Sunset and 5th and then Devon from Devon Rachel. Since then, the chain gang has nearly doubled size with the additions of Jenn from The Suburb Experiment, Sarah from Living Goldie, Yola from Yola Thorp, and last but not least Lacey from A Lacey Perspective. Unfortunately we were unable to get all of our players involved for this swap, due to the busy hustle and bustle of summer! But! Have no fear, we will have a great fall swap to show you in the next month or so! So definitely stay tuned for that!

The whole premise of this chain gang swap is to unite girls that love to thrift or vintage shop and have them all share one item, and style it individually. We want to inspire others to give thrift and vintage shopping a chance, because it's the ultimate treasure hunt and you never know what you can find! Also, by each of us individually styling the piece we find, we are able to show you how one piece can be transformed into a variety of outfits. Pretty fun, huh? We think so! ;)

For this "Farewell to Summer" swap, I chose the item and went with this floral short-sleeve jacket. It can be worn open or buttoned-up, but I decided to wear it open for this outfit. It has gorgeous gold/pearl buttons that go down the front, and the vibrant floral print makes it the perfect starting point for a stellar outfit. I decided to go the "mixing prints" route, since that's one of my fave things to do with a great print. I paired the floral jacket with a striped 3/4 sleeve tee, a pair of distressed boyfriend jeans, and some pyramid studded kitten heels to finish off the look. My look is a mix between comfy casual and girly.

Brooch love.

Last Friday I hit up a Goodwill and found these awesome cropped trousers [which had been on my wish list for sometime now] and this lovely floral short-sleeved/bolero-esque jacket. I have been so inspired by the JCREW 2010 Fall Lookbook, that I had to re-create the multi-brooch look myself. Luckily, I've been collecting vintage brooches for awhile...so my idea easily came into fruition.

Winter Kate.

Nicole Richie. Just the sound of her name resembles style icon. Her style is undeniably inspirational and her newest clothing line "Winter Kate" embodies her every essence. It's comfy materials give it that everyday wearable feel connected with her haute effortless style we can't resist. While her bold patterns capture her evident love for vintage. My jaw literally dropped when I saw the jackets and cardys among her collection, and I thought to myself "I NEED one of these, NOW." But then I suddenly remembered a vintage jacket I had purchased not too long ago. It mimicked the jackets in her collection perfectly [&& I didn't have to shell out a lot of dough for it either]. Check it out:
