{Fan Leaf Necklace}
{kimono: DIY from a thrifted silk robe (similar styles HERE and HERE); leggings: MM Couture (old, but similar style for cheap HERE); belt: thrifted; "fan leaf necklace": TaaraJewelry c/o; "R" initial necklace: MayaBrenner c/o (also get it HERE); bracelets: JJypsy c/o, INPINK c/o & Stella&Dot c/o; bag: vintage; booties: Charles David (similar style HERE); lipcolor: CoverGirl Lip Perfection in "Hot"}
Last Friday I went for an asian vibe with my new fan leaf necklace c/o TaaraJewelry! I love it's vintage look -- right up my alley! I knew this bright red silk robe would be a perfect pairing. I've had this robe in my closet for awhile. In fact, I picked it up from a thrift store almost two years ago. It had a hole on the side, but I loved the print so I took it to my alterations to have it mended. I cut off the side loops (where the belt used to go) and I belted it for a more modern look. I had initially purchased this to be worn during my pregnancy, but now I realize it's awesome post-pregnancy as well! I'm such a sucker for a great print or bright color, so even if I stumble upon something that needs a little TLC it's definitely going home with me. :) I hope everyone is having a fab week! xo

Big News!!
Hey loves! I promised I would spill the beans soon enough, and now I finally can!! :) I'm PREGNANT! We are so blessed and could not be more excited to be welcoming a sweet bundle of joy this December! God is good!!!
{wearing a vintage caftan}
In two days I'll be 14 weeks pregnant, and I am just thrilled to be in the second trimester and feeling like myself again. Once I hit 6 weeks the morning sickness (which I think should be called "all day sickness") came with a quickness! It lasted pretty much all the way until I hit 12 weeks. Everyone told me it would get better once I reached the second trimester, and luckily they were right! I'm finally getting back into blogging and eating the things I love, but for weeks I was feeling miserable. Waking up so early because I was uncomfortable or had to throw up (sorry for the graphic detail). There wasn't a whole lot I wanted to eat. Everything sounded and tasted horrible to me. The only things that kept me satisfied were fruit (especially pineapple, apples, and watermelon), crackers, soup, lemonade, cranberry juice, cheerios, oatmeal, and mac and cheese! After a few weeks I realized that the more I ate the better I would feel. If I had an empty stomach, my nausea would creep up on me so to keep it at bay I constantly munched on snacks while at work (peanut butter and apples, pretzels, yogurt, chex mix etc. etc. etc.). It was hard to even think about anything but feeling better, staying healthy, and of course my full-time job (which I managed to go to everyday without calling in sick, very proud of myself). I actually found it more therapeutic to go to work, rather than to sit on the couch and just feel miserable. Trust me, I was looking rough (even at work... can we say jeans and a polo shirt and a sweater... it was bad). But being around my co-workers and focusing on what jobs needed to get done helped me to get my mind off of feeling sick. For weeks I didn't even want to think about blogging. I was shocked that I didn't even have a desire to even check up on my fave blogs. Once I started to feel better I slowly crept back into posting here and there and visiting my faves to see what they were up to. Now I'm pretty much back to normal, although I want to post at my own pace, enjoy this special moment with my husband, and just enjoy being pregnant! I want to continue to share this fun journey to Mommy-Hood with all of you -- especially styling this growing bump (that seems non-existent right now).
And last but not least, I just want to say THANK YOU to all my amazing followers who constantly offer love and support each and everyday. Ya'll are the reason I continue to blog, and ya'll make it so fun for me! Last year J and I went through a tough time being pregnant and then miscarrying, but now we know God had a plan for us and this moment is meant to be! I feel blessed to have made such great friends through blogging (most of whom I've yet to meet)! Feels good to know I have sweet friends around the world praying for us and offering up words of love and encouragement. Means so much! xoxo!
